Iranian Steel Company’s Revenue Grows by 40.7 Percent in 6 Months
“In total, until September 2025, nearly 19 million tons of sponge iron have been produced in our company. Also, the company's two steelmaking phases have a capacity to produce 2 million tons of steel ingots, of which about 11 million tons of steel ingots have been produced by late September,” Hatami said.
“In the first six months of the current year, nearly one million tons of sponge iron and 745,000 tons of steel ingots have been produced in our company,” he added.
Hatami explained that despite the shutdown of one module and the 50% activity of the other module for safety reasons, the company was able to compensate for this reduction, achieve the sponge iron production plan and increase production compared to the previous year, which increased production in the steel ingot sector by 12 thousand tons, adding, “The company's revenue in the 6-month period of 1the current year increased by about 40.7% compared to the same period last year.”
Iran’s steel exports increased to nearly $3 billion in the first five months of the current Persian calendar year, showing a 10% surge compared to the same period last year.
The Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA) announced that the volume of iron and steel exports rose 17%, equal to 796,000 tons, reversing a decline seen in the first quarter.
It added that the exports of iron ore concentrate jumped 80 percent year-on-year, raising concerns among steelmakers over reduced domestic supply.
In contrast, exports of long steel products continued to fall sharply. Rebar, which accounted for over 85% of long product exports last year, dropped 31% over the five-month period.
Meanwhile, a stronger export strategy by Mobarakeh Steel Group companies, including the main plant and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Automotive Sheet, increased foreign currency revenues by $122 million from flat steel products. Their total exports reached $216 million in the same period.
