Hamidreza Shafiei-Makvand said that thee achievements were made possible through domestic capabilities, coordinated planning, and centralized management.

He further pointed to NIDC’s role in executing the country’s drilling projects, noting that as a subsidiary of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), NIDC plays a pivotal role with its fleet of 74 drilling rigs (71 onshore and three offshore).

He said the drilling rig productivity rate reached 78% in the first quarter of the Iranian calendar year 1404 (started March 2025), showing significant growth compared to last year’s average of 68%.

Last year in December, the NIDC presented a solution for image data processing with the help of artificial intelligence technology.

“We came to the need to have a specific classification of the data we have, and in this regard, we came to 6 clear classifications, including the classification of topic-oriented, dominant-oriented, application-oriented, situation-oriented and ownership-oriented of data, and the most obvious classification is of the subject type that can be used in fields like medicine, education, etc.,” said Mehrdad Rashidian, the director of the Image Data department of a private Iranian institution.

“In the next layer, the format-oriented classification, it refers to the format and structure of the data we need,” he added.

“The next layer of classification is related to raw data in the form of warehouses or cleaned data on which a layer of processing has been performed,” Rashidian said.
