Afghanistan’s Exports of Fig Increases
TEHRAN (ANA)- Spokesman of Afghanistan’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad said the country exported figs worth more than $165 million over the past year.
Afghanistan exported figs more than 165 million dollars to several countries including the United States, Britain, India, Pakistan, Oman in the year 1403 in the Persian calendar which ended on March 20, 2025, and efforts are underway to further increase the export, the local media outlet Tolonews citing Jawad as saying.
Figs, both fresh and dried, have been a main export item over the past several years in Afghanistan.
Afghanistan's main export data-x-items include precious, semi-precious stones, cotton, medicinal plants, fresh and dried fruits including pine nuts, figs, apricots and sour cherry, carpets, saffron, melon and apple.
