Iran’s SPGC Implements Successful Maintenance Operations to Increase Gas Production

Gholamabbas Hosseini, the CEO of the SPGC, pointed to the stability of gas production across all refineries in Phases 1 and 2 of South Pars, adding, “Renovation and maintenance operations for various pumps, boilers, and turbo-compressors are being successfully carried out using the expertise and innovative approaches of South Pars specialists.”
Gholamabbas Hosseini noted that significant achievements have been made in maintaining production stability through both short-term and long-term maintenance efforts.
He emphasized that gas production across the South Pars Gas Complex refineries is now stable, and with the support of creative and innovative experts, there are no issues in maintaining units, parts, or strategic equipment.
South Pars gas field is the largest independent gas reserve in the world which is shared by Iran and Qatar. The field is 105 kilometers away from the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone. The reservoir covers 9,700 square kilometers in total with 3,700 square kilometers belonging to Iran. According to latest figures, the field contains more than 51 trillion cubic meters of natural gas. It stands for about 48 percent of Iran’s confirmed reserves.
