Türkiye Gains over 61 Billion Dollars from Tourism in 2024

TEHRAN (ANA)- Tourism revenues in Türkiye increased to 61.1 billion dollars in 2024, showing an 8.3 percent hike compared to the past year.
"Our tourism revenues exceeded our Medium-Term Program target with 61.1 billion dollars in 2024 and reached the highest level in our history," said Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz on social media platform X.
A total of 62.2 million tourists visited Türkiye last year, surpassing the government forecasts, Yilmaz added.
The vice president noted that the Turkish government expects the positive trend to continue in 2025, aiming for 63.6 billion dollars in tourism revenues.
Around 17 percent of the revenues came from non-resident citizens. Of the total, 43.9 billion dollars were contributed by personal expenditures and about 17.4 billion dollars by package tours.
