Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Rostam Qassemi held a meeting with Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan in Tehran on the development of cooperation between the two countries.

“Armenia is interested in completion of construction projects in the road sector and civil infrastructure in cooperation with Iranian companies,” Sanosyan said.

He noted that at present there are many construction projects in Armenia that the Armenian companies are not able to complete, inviting the Iranian companies to cooperate in the completion of construction and infrastructural projects in his country.

“I invite the capable Iranian companies to cooperate with Armenia in construction of tunnels and roads projects as well as construction of buildings,” Sanosyan said.

In relevant remarks last month, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian also said that the country’s companies are eager to be involved in economic and infrastructural projects in Armenia.

Amir Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with the head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group of Armenia and Iran in Tehran.

Pointing to the good and expanding relations between Tehran and Yerevan and the role of the legislative bodies in this regard, he underlined Iran’s resolve to deepen relations with Armenia.

Amir Abdollahian also stressed the necessity of facilitating transportation between Iran and Armenia by cutting duties and costs as well as participation of Iranian companies in the implementation of economic and infrastructural projects in Armenia.
