Iran Records 25% Increase in Non-Oil Exports in 1 Month

TEHRAN (ANA)- Iran’s non-oil exports in the seventh month of the Persian calendar year (started on March 21) increased 25%, the ministry of industry, mine and trade announced.

Spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade Omid Qalibaf said that Iran’s exports of non-oil goods from Sept. 21 to Oct. 22 showed a 25 percent increase compared to a month earlier.

He added that the country’s value of foreign trade exceeded $60 billion during the first seven months of the current year (from March 21 to Oct. 22).

Iran’s imports of goods in the 7th Iranian month hit $5.7 billion, showing a 30 percent hike as compared to a month earlier.

Iran’s foreign trade value in seven months of the current year exceeded $60 billion, Qalibaf reiterated.

Also, last month, Iranian Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Mohammad Mehdi Baradaran said that the country has witnessed an 18% increase in its exports in the past six month.

The official noted that 70% of Iran's imports had been raw materials in the last year.

“This year, only 20% of imports were consumer and final goods, such as mobile phones, which were not produced domestically,” he added.

Baradaran also said that Iran's share in the field of home appliance exports has grown by 34%.
