Hamed Zareyee, the head of the Iran Veterinary Council, said the science and technology park will be established in line with a plan to develop the veterinary sector.

He made the remarks on the sidelines of a ceremony to mark National Veterinary Day, adding that the development plan will modify structural, financial, administrative, livelihood, and supportive conditions.

By launching the first science and technology park with the support of the private sector, we are making effort to increase the share of knowledge and technology in the veterinary sector, he explained.

“Launching the science and technology park will help the veterinary sector leave traditional methods and help us offer more services,” Zarei noted.

“The Veterinary Council’s guidelines were approved in 2011, but it has not specified the rights and responsibilities of technical and health officials in the veterinary sector.”

There are more than 800 diseases common between humans and animals, Zareyee pointed out.

Iran marks National Veterinary Day on October 6.

Ali Rasoulian, the head of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization, has said 40 science and technology parks will be established across the country over the next five years.
