Khuzestan Customs Records Exports of $367 mln US Dollars Worth of Non-Oil Commodities to Iraq in 5 Months

TEHRAN (ANA)- An Iranian customs official said that $367 million US dollars worth of non-oil commodities were exported to Iraq in first five months of the current Iranian year of 1402 (Started on March 21, 2023) through Southwestern Khuzestan Province border crossings.

“In the first five months of this year (March 21-August 21), more than 2,596,000 tons of non-oil goods were exported to Iraq through land and water borders as registered in Khuzestan customs,” Khuzestan customs administration supervisor Behrouz Gharebeigi told Iranian media.

“During this period, the value of exports from Khuzestan customs to Iraq was more than $367,620,000,” he added.

Compared to the same period last year, this volume of exports shows an increase of 17% in weight and a decrease of 14% in value.

The Khuzestan customs official continued to say that construction materials, cement clinker, food, vegetables, farmed fishery products, dairy products, household appliances and iron were the major exported data-x-items to Iraq.

“The largest volumes of goods exported to Iraq were registered through Shalamcheh and Chazzabah customs offices,” Gharebeigi added.
