New mixer enables uniform blending of difficult-to-mix powders

Uniform mixing of powdered materials can be challenging, particularly when two substances have physical properties that make them difficult to combine. Designing equipment that enables controlled movement of materials and improves mixing uniformity can help address this challenge in laboratory and industrial processes.

In this regard, a technology company active in laboratory equipment has designed and manufactured V-shaped mixers for blending difficult-to-mix powders, alongside its production of equipment for physics laboratories and laboratory devices used in the oil industry.

Ramin Sayami, a researcher at the technology company, said that physics laboratory equipment is one of the company’s research areas. He added that the company also designs and manufactures laboratory equipment for use in the oil industry.

He described the V-shaped mixers as the company’s latest development, noting that the devices have been manufactured in capacities of 5, 10, 100 liters and larger.

Sayami explained that the mixer is designed to blend two types of powder that are difficult to combine. By generating clockwise and counterclockwise movements, the device enables the materials to be thoroughly mixed.

Referring to the mixer’s V-shaped structure, he said the materials are introduced into each of the mixer’s cylinders. As the materials move and collide with one another, they undergo thorough mixing within a specified period of time.
