Second Round of Indirect Iran–US Talks Concludes in Geneva
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei, confirmed on Tuesday that the latest round of talks between Tehran and Washington wrapped up in the Swiss city.
As in the earlier session, the two sides did not engage in direct face-to-face discussions. Instead, their respective delegations conveyed positions and proposals through Omani intermediaries, underscoring Muscat’s continued role as a diplomatic channel between the two countries.
The renewed diplomatic track began on February 6 in Muscat, facilitated by Badr Albusaidi, who has acted as a go-between in relaying messages between the Iranian and American sides.
Officials from both Tehran and Washington have characterized the discussions so far as constructive, emphasizing a shared willingness to maintain the negotiating process despite persistent differences.
While no concrete breakthroughs have been publicly announced, the continuation of talks suggests that both governments see value in keeping diplomatic avenues open amid ongoing regional and international tensions.
