Iranian Photographer Visits Onsala Space Observatory in Sweden
download all picturesTEHRAN (ANA)- ANA Press photographer Mohadeseh Moghadam has paid a visit to Onsala Space Observatory (OSO) in Sweden where the Swedish National Facility for Radio Astronomy is located 45 km South of Gothenburg.
The OSO has two telescopes of 20 and 25 meter that work on the radio wave range, which is lower than the frequency of visible waves. For this reason, the use of mobile phones, Wi-Fi internet and microwaves are prohibited in the vicinity of the observatory because their waves affect the data received by the telescope. The OSO was established in 1949. Currently, the observatory under the supervision of Chalmers University of Technology cooperates with various international projects in the fields of astronomy and astrophysics.
