download all picturesTEHRAN (ANA)- Kashmiri Pandits are Hindu kashmiris who are native to the Kashmir Valley. They are the only remaining Hindu Kashmiris after the large-scale of conversion of the Valley's population to Islam during the medieval times. Prompted by the growth of militancy across the valley, large numbers of Hindus left the region in groups during the 1990s. Demographic composition in Kashmir includes a large number of Muslims (97.06%) and a very small number of Hindus (2.11%) and Sikh (0.58%) population.
