Special Panel on Knowledge-Based Firms Held During Iran-Africa Summit

TEHRAN (ANA)- A special panel was held about the Iranian knowledge-based companies during the Second International Iran-Africa Summit in Tehran in late April.

The panel was attended by the representatives of the Iranian Vice Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy and the Information and Communications Technology Ministry of Iran and a group of guests and African businessmen who were visiting Tehran for the summit.

In the panel, Seyed Mojtabi Ghadamgahi, the chairman of the Department for Businesses Development at the Iranian Center for International Scientific and Technological Interactions which is part of the Vice Presidency itself introduced Iran's science and technology ecosystem,  and presented statistics and figures in the field of technology and the policies pursued by the Vice Presidency.

Later in the panel, the representatives of the Iranian Center for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine, the Biotech Development Council, and the Nano Development and Micro Technologies Council which are all part of the Iranian Vice Presidency presented a report each on the country's achievements in their specialized fields and talked about their products.

The representatives and business people of different African countries who were from Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Cameroon, Central Africa, Kenya, etc., in turn, welcomed the introduced products, especially in the field of aquaculture and agricultural inputs, and declared their readiness to host sales representatives of the producers of those Iranian products and import them into their countries.

The representatives of those African countries also expressed their willingness to attract Iranian investment and technology in their respective countries.

According to the report by the Iranian vice presidency, the meeting ended with establishing a relationship between the African and Iranian businessmen participating in the meeting and inviting those business people to visit the Iran House of Innovation and Technology (iHiT) in Tehran.
