Reza Sahebi, the managing director and research and development manager of the knowledge-based company pointed to the production of skin repair creams, and skin protection and treatment creams based on herbs and human exosomes, algae and medicinal mushrooms, and said, “The knowledge-based product of our company is repair and restoration creams which is either derived from people's own cells or herbs.”

Noting that the product is mounted on biological scaffolds to deliver the necessary message related to the synthesis of collagen and various growth factors to deeper layers of skin, he said, “It can be used for healing the wounds, eczema and skin rashes and even for other cases like wrinkles and better and more targeted hydration.”

“If we consider the herbal creams, the price of this product is 50% cheaper than domestic products, and this difference is even much greater compared to foreign samples,” Sahebi said.

Earlier, in November, Iranian researchers at another knowledge-based company had also succeeded in producing a repair cream for skin protection and treatment based on plants, human exosomes, algae and medicinal mushrooms.

“This skin repair cream is produced based on the exosome therapy process. An exosome is a series of vesicles or cellular sacs made of lipids that are naturally produced by the cell,” Ali Qarayee, a research and development member of the knowledge-based company, told ANA.

“Vesicles in nanometer dimensions between 50 and 130 nanometers are synthesized by the cell and sent out of the cell. These vesicles can contain different contents and materials,” he added.

“We have produced the cream to treat skin diseases like burns or diabetic wounds,” Qarayee said, adding that in this method, blood samples from a patient are taken and then the blood’s serum is isolated and the exosomes are extracted.

“Finally, we make a personalized cream with the patient's exosome which is specific to the person and reduces allergic and immunity reactions and skin sensitivities because it is made entirely based on the patient's own cells,” he stated.

Exosomes are extracellular vesicles generated by all cells and they carry nucleic acids, proteins, lipids, and metabolites.

They are mediators of near and long-distance intercellular communication in health and disease and affect various aspects of cell biology.
