“At the request of Imam Rezai Hospital in Mashhad, we designed an electric ambulance at the smallest possible sizes and with the least weight while having the capability to carry three passengers (including a driver, a nurse and a patient). It transports patients who need medical equipment such as ventilators and checking devices that must remain connected to them while being transported inside the corridors of the hospital,” Nima Mirbulouki, the executive director of the project said in an interview with Iranian media.

The Islamic Azad University (IAU) researcher added that by using this electric ambulance, patients can be transported from the emergency room to the MRI ward, operating room, other healthcare departments.

“This car enters the elevator and by going to different floors, the patients are transferred to the different wards as the doctors request,” he explained more.

“As the ventilator and checking devices are placed next to the patient’s body, the patients can be moved inside the hospital under optimal conditions,” he continued:

Mirbulouki continued to say that the electric ambulance has been delivered to Imam Reza Hospital.

Emphasizing that the engine of this electric car and all its parts such as wheels, seat, body and battery are domestically made by Iranian technical experts, the executive director of the project added, “The total price of this device is 180 million Tomans, and if there is a demand to increase the power of the batteries or the customer seeks a machine with polymer lithium or lithium batteries, its price will increase.”

According to IAU researcher, the electric ambulance's battery lasts for eight hours then it will need recharging.
